Treatments

Injectables

Injectable therapy is a safe, non-surgical way to refresh and rejuvenate your skin by restoring volume, smoothing wrinkles, and improving overall texture. These treatments work by stimulating collagen production, relaxing facial muscles, or adding subtle volume where needed. The result is a natural, more youthful appearance without downtime.

Neuromodulators

Neuromodulators, also known as Botulinum toxin type A, are proteins used to temporarily block nerve signals that cause muscle contractions. This relaxes targeted facial muscles, softening fine lines and wrinkles caused by repetitive movements.

Common treatment areas include:

  • Frown lines (between the brows)
  • Crow’s feet (around the eyes)
  • Forehead creases

With age and repeated facial expressions, fine lines and wrinkles become more noticeable. Neuromodulators like Botox®, Xeomin®, and Dysport® help reduce existing lines and prevent deeper wrinkles from forming. They are also used for facial balancing and muscle relaxation in both cosmetic and therapeutic applications.

Duration of Results

Effects typically last 3 to 6 months, depending on individual response and muscle strength.

Therapeutic Botox®

Excessive Sweating (Hyperhidrosis)

Hyperhidrosis is excessive sweating that disrupts daily life. Botox® is a safe and effective treatment for hyperhidrosis in areas such as:

  • Underarms
  • Hands
  • Feet
  • Scalp
  • Face

If antiperspirants have failed and other medical causes have been ruled out, Botox® can help significantly reduce sweating.

Chronic Migraines

For individuals experiencing headaches 15+ days per month for over three months, Botox® injections in specific areas can reduce migraine frequency and severity, improving overall quality of life.

Teeth Grinding (Bruxism) & TMJ Dysfunction

Bruxism (teeth grinding) and TMJ dysfunction can cause jaw pain, headaches, and worn-down teeth. Botox® injections into the jaw muscles help relieve tension by blocking the nerve signals that trigger excessive muscle contractions.

Important Considerations

  • Consult your healthcare provider before considering therapeutic Botox® treatment.
  • OHIP does not cover Botox® for migraines, but some private insurance plans may offer partial coverage.

FAQs

Botulinum toxin injections are performed using a fine needle into specific muscles of the face or neck. By carefully choosing specific muscles, we weaken only the wrinkle-producing muscles, preserving your natural facial expressions. The procedure takes approximately 15 minutes.

You can expect to see results within days after your treatment, but the full effect could take up to 2 weeks. It is best to avoid alcohol at least one week prior to treatment. Aspirin and anti-inflammatory medications should be stopped 7 days prior to treatment in order to reduce bruising.

Although generally safe, botulinum toxin side effects and complications can include:

  • Bruising and pain at the injection site
  • Flu-like symptoms
  • Headache
  • Nausea
  • Redness
  • Temporary facial weakness or drooping

It is very unlikely that the toxin might spread beyond the treatment area, causing botulism-like signs and symptoms such as breathing problems, trouble swallowing, muscle weakness and slurred speech. If these symptoms occur, seek medical help immediately.

Looking “frozen” or overdone is a common concern among individuals considering an in-office treatment for moderate to severe frown lines. There are steps you can take to make you feel more comfortable. First, have a detailed discussion with your provider. You want to talk through every concern you have, until you feel comfortable.

Our providers, who are experienced in facial anatomy, can determine the right doses to relax your frown lines without resulting in a frozen look. Finally, ask for an FDA-approved product, such as XEOMIN®, BOTOX®. or DYSPORT®. Remember, each person is difference hence individual results may vary.

  • Pregnant or breastfeeding women
  • A person with a neuromuscular diseases (i.e Myasthenia Gravis, ALS) or an autoimmune disease (i.e lupus).
  • A person with an allergy to botulinum toxin or its ingredients (i.e allergy to Cow’s milk protein)
  • If you have an infection in the treatment area

Fillers

Dermal fillers are gel-like substances that are injected beneath the skin, at different depths, to restore lost volume, smooth lines and soften creases, or enhance facial contours. As we age, the structures of the face (fat, bone, muscle and skin) begin to thin resulting in sagging or sunken appearance. Dermal fillers provide a non-surgical and cost-effective alternative to minimize the effects of aging on your face.

Hyaluronic Acid

The body naturally produces Hyaluronic Acid (HA), a hydrating substance that keeps the skin plump and youthful. As we age, HA is gradually broken down and its production decreases resulting in duller skin appearance. Because hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in your body, overtime, the same enzyme that naturally break it down, will gradually dissolve the HA filler.

Hyaluronic Acid (HA) fillers are by far the most commonly used dermal fillers for facial rejuvenation. They can be used most effectively and naturally to restore areas of lost volume in the face that occurs with aging. Strategic and skilful placement of filler can lift and support the face without the need for a surgical procedure.

Dermal fillers can smooth fine lines on the forehead and the lower face. Moderate lines occurring in the mouth to chin area can be softened. Cheeks and chins can be remodelled and given more definition. Scars can be minimized, while lips can be defined or enhanced, subtly and naturally.

Biostimulators

Around the age of 20, our skin begins to produce 1% less collagen every year.  Bio-stimulators are injectable treatments designed to  improve wound healing and the production of type I and II collagen.  Collagen is a fibrous protein that forms a supportive three-dimensional network in the skin.  As the skin ages, this network gradually breaks down and becomes fragmented. Over time, our body breaks its collagen down, causing skin to lose fullness and elasticity.

Sculptra

Sculptra is a biostimulator and a collagen-stimulating face injection solution that works from within the deeper layers of the skin to enhance collagen production and restore your skin’s health and glow. Sculptra is a composed of a bio-degradable poly-L-lactic acid(PLLA) substance which, when injected under the skin, gradually build new collagen strands to provide a fuller look. Sculptra can be used to treat deep lines, creases, and folds to give a more youthful appearance.

Radiesse

Radiesse is a non-surgical cosmetic treatment that is composed of calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHa). This composition resembles the composition of the naturally occurring calcium found in your teeth and bones that is suspended in a water-based gel carrier. Once Radiesse is injected into your skin, it immediately adds volume and give definition to areas of the face that have lost volume or wrinkled. Moreover, Radiesse helps stimulate the healthy production of collagen to keep the skin firm, and young.

Radiesse treatments can help provide volume to the chin, cheeks and jaw, to give a more structured effect to your face. It also decreases the appearance of deep acne scars and rejuvenate areas with loss of elasticity like the back of hands and décolleté making prominent veins and wrinkles instantly disappear. Prior to your treatment, we will conduct a thorough consultation to determine whether you are a candidate for Radiesse.

Radiesse should not be used in areas where the skin is delicately thin such as under the eyes or on the lips.
